The city's board of control -- made up of the mayor, finance director and law director -- approved these items Thursday:
A $2,640 fa & ccedil;ade renovation loan for All Children Learn Differently Learning Center.
Assistance grants in the form of deferred loans through the city's minority and women's business program, including: $1,200 for Keith Haynes for an apprenticeship program; $330 for New Millennium Extraordinaire Training, Design and Contracting, for business consulting and management assistance; $4,831 for Vision's Marketing and Distributing for startup costs; $202 for Charles E. Donald for job-training fees; $132 for Cortland Brown for job-training fees; $413 for Clifford Anderson Jr. for job-training fees; and $413 for Theodore Jackson for job-training fees.
A change order that deducts $79,600 from the city's 2002 paving contract, leaving the contract at $822,395.
Awarded contracts of $589,410 to A.P. O'Horo Co. for general mechanical; $69,850 to Western Reserve Mechanical for heating and plumbing; and $166,643 to B & amp;J Electric for electrical work to build the Meadowbrook pump station.
Severance of $7,348 for Sammy Farinelli, systems maintenance chief in the sewer department who retired Oct. 1.
Severance of $3,802 for Joseph Kerr, a police officer who resigned Sept. 13.
Severance of $2,917 for Darren Perdue, a police officer who resigned Sept. 13.
Severance of $528 for Karla Seldon, a secretary in the planning department who resigned Aug. 23.
