BIG 12 FOOTBALL Sooners, Buffaloesmeet in big game

The Sooners are the leaders in the South Division and the Buffaloes top the North.
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The loss of their starting quarterbacks hasn't done anything to hurt Colorado's and Oklahoma's chances of winning a Big 12 title.
Oklahoma (7-0, 3-0 Big 12) is ranked No. 2 and leads the Big 12 South.
After a slow start, No. 13 Colorado (6-2, 4-0) has won five in a row and is the leader in the North.
The teams meet Saturday with newly established starters.
Oklahoma's Nate Hybl took over in the second game when Jason White tore up a knee.
Robert Hodge became Colorado's starter in the third game, after Craig Ochs had a concussion a week earlier. Ochs subsequently quit the team.
Regains starting spot
Hybl's success has not been all that unexpected. He was the starter a year ago before being dislodged for a short time by White. Hybl got the job back when White got hurt in his second start.
In all, Hybl started 11 of 13 games last season. He began this year on the bench behind White, whose running ability gave the Sooners a dimension it lacked with Hybl.
But Hybl has played well since White's injury. He didn't throw an interception until the sixth game of the season, when he threw four against Texas. He generally has been solid, completing 56 percent of his passes for 1,313 yards and nine touchdowns.
He has been complemented by an improving running game and a tremendous defense.
"Nate's a good quarterback and we feel great about him," coach Bob Stoops said.
The Buffaloes were counting on Ochs, who had thrown for about 2,400 yards in his first two seasons. But then he suffered his third concussion and was replaced by Hodge, a senior who had thrown just three passes a year earlier.
Hodge, who came to Colorado after playing two years at a junior college, has thrown for 794 yards and eight touchdowns, with three interceptions.
"They still had the emphasis on running and play-action with Ochs in there and it seems to be the same now," Stoops said.
"Their style is to be strong at running the football, and try to fool you and get behind you with play-action and boot passes."
Nation's top rusher
Hodge's best play has been to hand off to Chris Brown, who leads the nation in rushing at 162.9 yards per game.
The Buffaloes' ability to move the ball on the ground has taken pressure off the quarterback.
Oklahoma has upgraded its running game this season and now averages 172 yards per game on the ground.
The Sooners ran for 266 yards against Texas, led by Quentin Griffin's career-high 248 yards. Against Iowa State, Griffin ran for 111 yards and Oklahoma finished with 199 on a sloppy day.
