YOUNGSTOWN Control board

The city's control board handled these contract and spending items Thursday:
Contributed $50,000 for the Streetscape organization to improve the look of several gateways into the city.
Awarded an $84,584 contract to Urban Strategies Inc. of Toronto, Ontario, to handle the civic input portion of the city's comprehensive plan.
Approved a contract not to exceed $37,629 with Youngstown State University and Hunter Moron for consulting services related to the comprehensive plan.
Accepted state funding of $400,000 to build a new bridge to serve the Ohio Works Industrial Park.
Approved payment of $14,990 to Marucci & amp; Gaffney Excavating for installing concrete driveway approaches and pavement not originally planned or included in the Ohio Works park.
Awarded a month-to-month contract not to exceed 90 days to We Clean It Krystal Klean for janitorial services to city offices. The city will review the scope of services before awarding a full-year pact.
