WARREN Roadsters exhibit rolls into Packard museum

WARREN -- The National Packard Museum will feature an exhibit of custom-built roadsters Tuesday through May 26.
The exhibit, "Roadsters: Rolling Works of Art," features cars of that have won awards such as America's Most Beautiful Roadster Award at the Grand National Roadster Show in San Francisco and the Rider Award at the Detroit Autorama.
They've also been feature in international shows, on magazine covers and advertising campaigns.
Fred Warren of Warren Motorsports is the owner and creator of the machines. Warren has owned roadsters since he was 14, when he drove a 1929 Ford Roadster to school.
After working as an engineer for Packard Electric for a number of years and then owning his own companies, he retired in the late 1990s.
Over the years, he has built more than 20 of the cars and won major awards. He has seven roadsters that he exhibits worldwide.
Featured automobiles
Those featured at the Packard Museum will include the sleek-lined "Smoothster," the low-slung PT Cruiser "Woody" with distinctive modifications and vibrant paint and interior, the 1932 Ford Coupe replica "Snowdrifter" and the "Aero Coupe" with its polished aluminum motor and hand-made fuel injection system.
The museum is open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors 65 and older and $3 for children ages 7 to 12.
